Statement III
History is a saga of endeavour
by some to describe and enter paradise, in conflict with others barring
their way; and though paradise is indescribable and therefore impossible
to enter, nevertheless the aspiration marks the best there is in the
human spirit. All art charts the success and failure of these aspirations,
whether at the private or the social level. Therefore society must
protect and cherish its artists and create the conditions which ensure
their work flourishes.
